What we record on this site and inside our guides, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
VenueGuide is made by Cernago Limited, registered in England and Wales (company number 13377499), whose registered office is 75 Normanhurst Avenue, Bournemouth, BH8 9NW. We’re responsible for the personal data described here. Questions about it go to team@cernago.com.
When you book a walkthrough or get in touch
We ask for your name, work email, company, website, what you sell and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Why: to reply to you and arrange the walkthrough.
- Our lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering a business enquiry you sent us.
- Where it goes: it’s emailed to our team’s inbox, using an email delivery service that passes it on and doesn’t use it for anything else.
- How long: only as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, or as the law requires, unless you become a client.
We don’t sell your details or share them with anyone for their own marketing.
Counting visits to this site
We count visits so we know which pages help people. The counter we use sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you or follow you to other sites. It records things like the page, the link that brought you here, your country and type of device, and whether you explored the live guide. The counting service is based in the EU. It uses your internet address and browser type only to tell one day’s visits apart, and doesn’t store either.
Inside our guides
A guide remembers, on your own device, a few choices such as having closed its welcome card, so it doesn’t ask again. That stays on your device and isn’t sent to us.
When you explore the live guide on this site, we also count which of its markers you open, whether you step inside or switch to Night, and roughly how long you spend with it. These counts go through the same counter as above and don’t identify you.
Cookies
This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we’ll ask you first and update this page.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop us using it. Email us at the address above and we’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
